Basic Make Your Own Supplements Recipe for Liver Capsules

DIY liver capsules cost range is due to optional dehydrating machine and capsule filling machine. It is assumed that you have a pan and tin foil and not factored in. We list capsule filling machines below along with dehydrating machine options. We also list empty capsule supply sources. Dehydrators range from around $30 to $300. I have a multi-tiered model with temperature control that was under $50 and works great. Capsule machines are about the same range. I have a 50 capsule machine that cost under $20 and all you will need for ease of use and production.

I also purchased a coffee grinder that works much better than most blenders for less than $30. Liver is under $5 per lb on average. You can easily purchase all of these and have your first batch for under $100 and in my case, about $90 including the liver! Making your own liver capsules is one of the biggest cost saving DIY supplements since the average commercial bottle is about $40 or much more. You can make the same after initial supply costs for less than $10! Around a 70% savings!

Keep in mind, you can go the even lower budget route. You can use your stove on lowest setting to easily dehydrate liver to a hard consistency and save the cost of a dehydrator. You can also use your regular blender and a sifter to remove any larger pieces let unground. Capsules can be filled by hand but it will save a lot of time if you get a machine and they start as low as $20. You will have to buy the empty capsules and they are very inexpensive running around a couple cents ea. 100 capsules equals about a two dollar investment give or take a buck.

So, you can see why the range is from $15 and up. Going the most budget route, you can get away with spending under $15 including a lb of beef liver for your entire first batch of desiccated liver caps!

This DIY supplements could be your best health investment ever!

Preparing the liver

Chop raw liver into small pieces. Buy the best quality beef liver you can afford. Grass fed is the best but most costly. Any fresh liver will be great for your health however.

Dehydrating the liver

Dehydrate until liver is hard and dry. Time will vary depending on method of dehydration. Dehydrator will take up to 12 hours or more. Oven and other higher heat methods will be faster but also will cook out some of the nutrients. Dehydrating retains much of the nutrition at 160 degrees or less Fahrenheit heat.

Create powder

Dehydrated liver is powdered in grinder once it has become fully dry in the desiccating process. It will easily powder when totally dry. A coffee grinder will create a finer powder and recommended.

Fill capsules

Either by hand or with machine. Capsule sources listed within this article are very inexpensive at a couple pennies each. The inexpensive machines make it a snap to make 20 to hundreds of capsules in a snap. Making desiccated liver capsules should be an ongoing health regimen so I suggest getting all the materials that will pay dividends. You will pay off the investment after just a couple of bottles or so compared to the retail brands!

Storage

Place finished capsules into sealable bottle or bottles. Best to have an opaque/dark bottle to protect from light. Use a tightly sealable cap. Store in a cool, dark location if not using all within a month or so.
